Inspired by DeviantArt user ~wflu and a gimptalk tutorial Grumpy Farmer by *Griatch-art, I felt the need to develop a sketching brush that would feel and look like a real pencil, and that would enable me to draw individual lines. Like that I can skip a sketching stage on real paper.

Just gotta say I love these brushes. I've just started seriously trying to do all-digital work (so no pencil scan-ins) and before that was really difficult for me due partly to the "The lines aren't appearing under the pen in my hand!" thing, and partly because it was hard for me to really figure out what I was doing with dark lines on the screen that just didn't look "right" at all.

I got a new, small tablet with better pressure detection plus these brushes, and suddenly it all makes sense....

I'll mention using these in anything I used them in, even if the layer doesn't make it to the final version (being a rough sketch layer). It's been a big help. :)

these look great! I put them into the brushes folder and started up GIMP but cant seem to find them in the brushes :S is there something I'm doing wrong?
